It has been a busy week at Maynard High School highlighted by our annual “Back to School Night” this past Tuesday. We had a truly remarkable turnout with over 80% of our students having one or more parent or guardian in attendance. Over 500 people were in our building for the evening's activities and I’d also like to thank the representatives from our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), the Maynard Music Association (MMA), Remembering Maynard’s Own (RMO), Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) and Maynard Educational Foundation (MEF) for their presentations and informational materials.
I’d also like to share a recent thank you note I received from Nanda Landers from the Women Of Note chorus which recently rented our auditorium space. It speaks to the dedicated staff and WAVM students we are so proud of who are working hard even on weekends.
Ms. Landers writes:
I wanted to write a note of thanks.
My chorus Women Of Note hosted our annual show for the first time at the Maynard Auditorium last Saturday. This was the first time in this venue and my first time organizing the show. Kyle has been very patient with me while I was trying to figure out what we needed and when.
While we were there Tony was on duty, we want to extend an extra thank you to him.
He has gone above and beyond what was expected, helping us move things and being available whenever needed. During and after the show he checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.
The WAVM crew that assisted us for both for the technical rehearsal and the show itself also were incredibly helpful. They were efficient, skilled and a pleasure to work with.
The chorus loved singing on the stage. The size of the auditorium was fantastic for the kind of show we put on. We hope to perhaps make this an annual tradition.
Please extend our gratitude to Tony and the WAVM staff.
The Maynard High School community has much to be proud of within the building, within the town, and within the entire area.
