A Special Message from the Maynard High School PTO

posted Mar 27, 2018, 7:08 AM by Chuck Caragianes
Good morning,

The following message from the Maynard High School Parent Teachers Organization is of considerable importance.  As has been seen around the country, volunteers are needed to periodically step up to keep valuable public and school initiatives like our PTO alive and well.  In far too many places this has not been happening.  Let's show that Maynard is different in the best possible way by joining us at our next meeting where you can see what our PTO does, and to then consider taking on a role as part of a team that makes valuable contributions to your children's high school.

Thanks for reading the message below, and I hope to see you on April 11th.

Chuck Caragianes
Principal of Maynard High School

The next PTO meeting will be held on April 11th at 7:00pm in the media center.  We will be planning the Staff Luncheon to be held on May 4th at 11:15 at the high school and the Senior Class Luncheon to be held in early June.  Chuck Caragaines will be available at the start of the meeting for Q & A.

The PTO is in DESPERATE need for someone to take over leadership next year.  All the officers are parents of seniors.  We have money in the bank.  We make our money from the book recycling bin and by a donation from Life Touch school portraits.  There is very little that needs to be done but someone’s name has to be on the bank account.  If no one steps up we will have to turn our funds over to another non-profit and close the account.

Our main priorities have been
1. Staff Luncheon,
2. Senior Class luncheon
3. Working, on occasion, with the other PTOs to sponsor educational speakers or events
4. Communication with the administration

Please consider how valuable these events are to our high school community.  Thirteen years ago when the PTO was started at the high school none of these things existed.  Please don’t let these wonderful events die off.

With thanks and hopes to see you on April 11th,
Your PTO Leadership Team.
