A Wonderful Close to September

posted Sep 29, 2017, 12:45 PM by Chuck Caragianes

Good afternoon,

I’d like to thank the hundreds of parents and guardians who attended “Back to School Night” yesterday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm here at the high school.  It was a great turnout and gave our parents and guardians a chance to meet their student’s teachers and get a sense of the academic day at Maynard High School. I’d also like to thank the representatives who were here from the Maynard Music Association (MMA), Remembering Maynard’s Own (RMO), our Parent-Teachers Organization (PTO), Maynard Education Foundation (MEF), Maynard Boosters Club, and Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) for their efforts getting out information and for their incredibly generous support of our students and staff members.  Finally, I’d like to thank our students for their help and support at “Back to School Night” as guides around the building, for assistance handing out schedules, for providing a lovely bake sale and water sale, and for raising money to support scholarships and for hurricane relief for the people of Puerto Rico.  It was a wonderful evening.

As further proof that time flies along, when we return to school on Monday the calendar will have changed to October and nearly half of the 1st marking quarter of the year will be done.  Please check in with your student and in IPASS to make sure they are on target and doing well so far this year.  To help ensure your child’s success in school, please continue to make sure that they are here everyday on time and ready to get to work in every class.
