Happy Thanksgiving!

posted Nov 21, 2017, 6:50 AM by Chuck Caragianes

Good morning,

Greetings for a Happy Thanksgiving this coming Thursday.  I hope each of you has a restful, peaceful and joyous holiday celebration along with your friends and family.

As a reminder, Thanksgiving break begins at the close of school today, November 21st, and continues until Monday November 27th when the building will reopen at 7:00 am.  There is no school on Wednesday the 22nd or Friday the 24th.

I’m pleased to report that our Homecoming Dance last Friday night, Powderpuff Football Tournament and Celebratory Bonfire last night all went off incredibly well.  There are too many people to thank individually but a huge thank you goes out to scores of people including our Boosters for opening the snack shack last night, our many volunteer staff chaperones at every event, our class advisors, many parents, and our students themselves.  We have a great school community at Maynard High School..

Today our annual spirit week activities will culminate with a celebration in our gymnasium in the afternoon just prior to student dismissal.  This is always a rousing celebration and I am looking forward to it with great anticipation.

Finally, on Thursday morning at 10:00 am our Tigers will take the field here at home against Marian in our traditional Thanksgiving Day game.  I hope to see you there.

The Thanksgiving Day football game also signals the end of the fall sports season here at Maynard High School.  Winter sports practices will begin on Monday November 27th when we return to school.  Any student interested in playing a winter sport should see Mr. Caruso, our Athletic Director, right away.

Below are some additional items of note and upcoming events:
