It's the Second Half!

posted Jan 24, 2014, 10:12 AM by Chuck Caragianes

Good afternoon everyone--

The first half of the year came to a close today and Monday marks the start of third quarter.  It has been a whirlwind first half with the completion of our building, incorporating the the grade and getting iPads out to every student.

This past week the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) completed an evaluation visit to our entire district and their team of 6 educators pored over all three schools and our central office.  I personally value such visits as an opportunity for outside eyes to view our programming and assist us in becoming ever better as a school.

The final report is due out in approximately 8 to 10 weeks and will be released to the public as soon as it is available.

Next fall we will be hosting multiple exchange students from around the world here at Maynard High School.  These students will be paying full tuition and fees to our school district as well as stipends ranging from $800-$1,000 per month to host families to help defray the cost of incorporating a teen into a home.

If you are interested in being a host family please contact Maynard High School and ask for Assistant Principal Purnima Vadhera or myself.

We continue to hum along here at Maynard High!

Our varsity basketball teams (both girls & boys) scored impressive victories over Littleton this past week, our Mock Trial Team defeated Concord Academy, and our school musical, Beauty and the Beast in in rehearsal.  Go Tigers!

That's it for now.

Take care--

Chuck Caragianes

Principal of Maynard High School
