Maynard High School is Buzzing with Activity

posted Oct 2, 2015, 11:50 AM by Chuck Caragianes

Good afternoon—

Believe it or not, next Friday October 9th marks the midway point of the first academic quarter of the school year and earlier this afternoon we had our annual fall pep rally for all students.  It is amazing how quickly these markers of the early fall have arrived at MHS.

As you know, attendance has been a point of emphasis this year and continues to be excellent this year.  Marian Ryan, the District Attorney of Middlesex County, has sent along a message on behalf of her office that can be found on the homepage of the MHS Website.  I urge you to read it when you have a moment.  The school webpage can be accessed at:

A number of noteworthy MHS events, announcements and dates follow:

From the Maynard Police

Complaints have been received by the Maynard Police about people parking in the fire lane at all three schools.  The police are authorized to ticket and tow from Fire Lanes.  Please do not park in a fire lane even for a quick errand into any school building.

Additionally, pick up and drop off of students ought to be happening at the main entrance to the high school every day.  Please do not pick up and drop off at the athletics door in the morning and afternoon—this is precisely where our van drop off and pickups occur and it blocks our handicapped accessible parking spots.

A Thank You to All Involved with Back to School Night

This past Tuesday night the 29th nearly 200 parents joined us for our annual “Back to School Night.”  Along with the parents I’d like to thank the many students who volunteered to assist throughout the evening, the parent groups that set up informational tables, the NHS for running a wonderful bake sale, our student Peer Leaders who are running a raffle for a Yard Clean Up, and our staff—many of whom were at MHS from 7:30am until 8:00pm on Tuesday.
