With Memorial Day upon us it is a time to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the next. For many of us there will be quiet contemplative moments mixed in with the joy of "Kicking -Off" the summer season.A Few Reminders and Thank Yous
Maynard High School Photobook
Check out our homepage and you will find a new link to the Maynard High School Photobook. With demolition of the current building nearly upon us MHS Senior Vivian Dao took on the challenge of documenting the building for posterity before it is gone for good. Vivian coordinated the entire project with technical assistance from MHS teachers John Flynn and Paul Orzech and engaged dozens of students in this venture. A photo and essay contest with prizes generously donated from Erickson's Ice Cream and an anonymous donor made this project all the more enjoyable. Thank you Erickson's and thank you Vivian Dao!
Construction Update & Packing Up MHS
Construction remains on time and on budget for the new MHS. You will notice large earth moving activities underway, new fence lines being formed, and the construction trailers used to coordinate activities moved to a new location on the grounds very shortly. All this is being done as major grading of the site around the building is now starting.
Meanwhile orange packing crates are now cropping up by the hundreds around the old MHS as we pack and prepare to move. As of this writing it is only 29 days until the old MHS is shut down for educational activities forever.
The High School Temporary Home--A Reminder
From June 24th to August 2nd all high school administrative functions will be housed at the Green Meadow School as construction continues on the new MHS. It is anticipated that administrative functions will transfer to the new MHS building on Monday August 5th. Please bear with us as we bring the construction project home to completion.
More news to follow next week.
Take care and have a safe, enjoyable, restful and thoughtful Memorial Day Weekend.
