Our Students Respond to Those in Need

posted Oct 20, 2017, 9:27 AM by Chuck Caragianes

Good afternoon,

Our students have been quite active fundraising and raising awareness for hurricane victims in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico as well for the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting.  The spontaneous response by our student body to these disasters and tragedies is a testament to their compassion and self awareness as people and is to be commended.

The end of the first marking quarter of the year is now coming up quickly in just 2 weeks on Friday November 3rd.  Please help make sure that your student is on top of all of his or her classes with a strong finish to the quarter featuring excellent attendance and quality completion of all assignments.

On another front, our Maynard Sports Boosters offer many terrific items through their school store link, the proceeds of which benefit our students.  With the colder weather coming, and holidays around the corner, check out their offerings of clothing and more at the following link:  https://maynardboosters.itemorder.com/sale?read_message=true

News From the Studios of WAVM & Mr. Ogden’s Class

The latest episode is here!  After some initial hardships with the engineering of the file, Justin came through and we have a new episode up and running for all to see!  New segment premieres, new Pam's corner, sports, announcement, photos, & more!

We always want to feature to the community everything that you are doing, so if you have any announcements please let us know.

Congratulations to all the students behind the scenes for MHN.  With so much attention given to those we see on screen, we often forget all of the students behind the scenes: editing, lighting, directing, working the camera, writing, and more.  Well done to them!

ENJOY!

Fund raiser for MHS Spanish Exchange at El Huipil

MHS students just enjoyed the first part of an amazing exchange with students from Tomares, Spain who visited us earlier this month.  Now the students are working towards paying for the second part of the exchange, when we visit them.

El Huipil, an authentic Mexican restaurant right in downtown Maynard, has generously agreed to donate 10% of food sales every Monday night for the month of October towards MHS’s student trip to Spain.  This includes eat in and take out orders (but not drinks).  So, leave the cooking to El Huipil on Monday nights and enjoy their food either in your home or with friends at the restaurant.  Thank you for your support.
