The Final Weekend of the 2016-2017 School Year

posted Jun 16, 2017, 10:07 AM by Chuck Caragianes

Good morning,

This past Saturday was graduation day at Maynard High School with nearly 90 young men and women receiving their diplomas or certificates of completion.  They are no longer students of Maynard High School.  They are now graduates and alumnae of Maynard High School.  The ceremony was held in our gymnasium and was extremely well attended.  The air was filled with excitement and went off tremendously.  Many thanks go out to all who made the event itself possible.  A special thank you goes out to the parents and supporters of our recent graduates for their tireless efforts on behalf of their children.  A further shout out goes to the graduates themselves for all of their hard work, achievement and growth over the course of their high school years.  Well done!

Graduation also means the end of the 2016-2017 school year is soon upon us.  The last day of school is this coming Monday June 19th, which is an early dismissal day at 10:55am.  Breakfast will be served, but lunch will not be provided on that day.

Underclassmen final exams for grades 9-11 are wrapping up today and Monday June 19th is a make-up day for any students who missed an exam.

Summer reading lists and assignments will be on the school website within a couple of days.

And now more MHS News from Mr. Ogden’s Radio & Television Production Class

The end of the year and the end of the Season 2 crew of MHN News is here.

A very special episode; you can't miss this one!  A Senior Project PSA from Mike F., and a united Fun Facts featuring all the students that made this season possible.

Television is a true team effort, and this group of students wonderfully embodied this concept.

A personal thank you to all my students; your surprise segment was touching and means a lot.  You will all be dearly missed.  And a special thank you to all the professionals who offered their support throughout the year and made this Maynard High School newscast possible.

We hope you look forward to next school year, as MHN will return, back and better than ever.  There are so many great things going on at WAVM!

Let us know if you have something you would like to feature on the news to kick off next year..

A special thank you goes out to all the students who worked so hard to make this happen.

You may find the following information and description of upcoming events of use and interest in the days ahead:

Savers Fundraiser at the High School for Spanish Exchange program

Time to do some spring cleaning?  We will be collecting gently used clothing, linens, shoes and small household items (no books, electronics or furniture please) on Saturday 6/17 from 9AM - 2PM in front of the high school.  There will also be a collection box in the front lobby of the high school where you can drop off your donations starting June 5th. We have a group of Spanish exchange students visiting Maynard High School this fall for about a week and we would like to be able to show them some of the local sites that make our area so special.  We hope to raise funds to help defray the cost of these activities and to help our students be able to visit the Spanish students in their homes next year as well. Please consider going through your closets and helping us out!  Thank you so much.
