The Winter Season Roars IN...A Tiger's Roar!

posted Dec 1, 2017, 9:09 AM by Chuck Caragianes

Good morning,

December has arrived and winter is just about here.

The fall sports season closed with our Tigers football team defeating Marion on Thanksgiving morning at Alumni Field.  Congratulations are in order for all of our fall athletes in all sports for yet another great season which started with practices way back in late August and has just wrapped up.    Come help celebrate our students’ success by joining us at the Fall Sports Awards Ceremony which will be coming up quickly on Wednesday night December 6th at 7:00pm here at Maynard High.

Winter sports are now underway with practices and team selections well along and our first games of the season just two weeks away.  Students should contact our Athletic Director Mr. Caruso should they have any questions about winter sports offerings.

In some great news regarding our music program and student musicians, Lucas Pepin has made Senior Districts with an All State Recommendation for his recent performance at Senior District auditions.  Initially it appeared Lucas hadn’t made it to this level, but an addition error in his scoring was discovered allowing him to rightfully join Joel Stenhouse, Charlie Neuhauser, Alice Hathaway, Hazelyn Aroian and Pat O'Neil for Senior Districts (and beyond).

Mark your calendars and set aside some time--the annual WAVM Beacon Santa Telethon is just about here with the kickoff coming one week from today at 8:00pm on Friday night December 8th and extending continuously for 40 hours through noon on Sunday afternoon December 10th.  Our student leaders and student staff at WAVM have helped raise in excess of a million dollars over the years to help families in need of assistance in the greater Maynard area.

Tune in…

Donate...

Bid…

And help make the 2017 Telethon a huge success benefitting friends and neighbors from across our community!

Below are some additional items of note and upcoming events:
