TIGERS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We celebrated our first win with our new Tiger Football team on Friday night. Final score 37 to 22. The entire Tiger team did a great job. Touchdowns scored by Sean Peterson and Mekel Salvant. Next game is Friday night in Littleton.

Important notices for parents:

All juniors will be taking the PSAT's free of charge on October 12th. Tenth grade students who wish to take the exam may sign up in Ms. Muise in guidance - first come, first serve. We have ordered a number of extra tests based on how many 10th graders choose to take the test. The cost is $20.00 for 10th graders.

Last year the PTO and Maynard Public Schools sponsored the screening of the movie "Race to Nowhere" and a subsequent panel presentation on the stress currently effecting many of our students. In continuing this work we will be participating in the National Mental Health Screening Day on October 6th. Medical professionals from Emerson Hospital will be screening students who have indicated to their counselor that they are experiencing stressors in their lives. This will be a confidential, brief meeting with Emerson Hospital staff from the Elliot Center. Information from the screening will be kept confidential and only be sent to parents. It will not be shared with the school. If your student has indicated to his/her guidance counselor that he/she is experiencing stressors in his/her life but you do not wish your student to participate please contact your student's guidance counselor.

Thanks to everyone who participated in Maynard Fest by volunteering or attending. It was a great community event!

Parents are reminded that by state law there is no smoking on school property. This includes events at Alumni Field and other athletic fields. Parents who park in front of the school to pick up/drop off their students are also required to follow this law. Thank you for your cooperation

Have a good week!
