** The Maynard Public Schools has an excellent working relationship with the fire and police departments in town. One of the reasons for this is the annual activities that we undertake in the spirit of cooperation between town agencies. Yesterday, in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies, we did a special lock-down drill that involves the use of local canine units which are training to search for controlled substances. This type of drill provides benefits to a number of local law enforcement agencies and the school system. The drill was conducted without incident and minimal instructional time was lost.
** The annual homecoming dance will be held Friday night. Tickets can be purchased in advance during lunches for $10.
** The first school council meeting was held last evening. We reviewed MCAS data, SAT and SAT data, and attendance data as part of our review of the school improvement plan action items for this school year. Our next meeting will be in January. For more information contact Dr. Chesson.
