The cool crisp air has arrived at Maynard High School!

** Each student was given a student handbook on the first day of school. Last week students were asked to sign a letter which indicated that they had been provided with a handbook and understood the school and district policies. We ask that each parent/guardian also review this handbook, if they have not already done so. On September 27th during our school open house parents will be asked to sign a similar letter indicating that they have been informed of the school and district policies. The current handbook on the website is from the previous school year. We hope to have the new handbook up on the school website by the end of the week. Please review the hardcopy handbook given to your students.

** Reminder that our ground-breaking ceremony for the new high school will be at 3:30 under the tent in the construction parking lot. All parents are welcome to attend. Please park in the student lot.
**  One of our staff members Rochelle Lerner and a small group of students, including Julia Chisolm, Emma Recane, Stephanie Wasik, Taylor Kapsimalis, Sierra Luciano, and Melanie Hunter participated in an Assabet River Clean-up with number of community and state representatives, including Nikki Tsongas. Congratulations to all our participants for giving back to their community!

** The Maynard High PTO will be meeting at 7:00 this Thursday, September 22nd in the MHS Library. Dr. Chesson will be available for a question and answer period at the beginning of the meeting. Dr. Girardi, our new superintendent will be attending the October 20th PTO meeting. Check out the MHS PTO Facebook page.

** Did you know that we have adopted a new math curriculum this year? In order to comply with the new state and national Common Core of Standards for Mathematics we have adopted the CME curriculum from Pearson. Attached please find a letter which will give you more details on this program.

Have a great week!
