This Week at MHS 9/6/2011

Despite the slight hiccup with the opening of school, the rest of the week went smoothly. A few reminders about upcoming events:

** The inaugural home game for TIger Football will be on Friday against Groton-Dunstable. This will be the first home game for our Maynard/Bromfield Co-op team. Please come out and welcome our new Tigers!

** Field hockey will also be at home today against Groton-Dunstable.
** Both boys and girls soccer are away this week with games on Friday. Boys will take on North Middlesex in an away match and girls take on Lunenberg, also away.

** Our first early release day will be next Friday 9/16. The high school releases at 11:00 am on early release days.

** Parking passes are now on sale to all students. We have only sold a handful of parking passes and there are many available spots. All students must have a parking pass to park at any MPS school. We will begin ticketing, and then towing cars that park without a parking pass next week.

** Back-to-school Night is at 6:30 on Tuesday September 27th. Please plan to attend this important night.

** Ground-breaking Ceremony for the new high school will be at 3:00 on Tuesday September 20th.

** The weather has cooled off this week. However, please keep in mind that students must follow the MHS dress code even in warmer weather. We had some signficant problems the first two days of school with extremely short shorts and skirts, as well as tops that left nothing to the imagination. Please help us to establish an environment that is conducive to effective education.

Have a great week!
