Update Before Vacation: 2/15/2012

Students and staff alike are anxiously awaiting the start of February vacation. We will be dismissing at 2:05 on Friday and school will begin again at 7:45 on February 27th. Some last minute reminders.

*** College scholarship assistance in the library 2 - 4:00 today.

*** College planning kick-off night for juniors on March 1st. at 7:00. Faculty will be wearing sweatshirts from their alma maters on that day to help students get excited looking towards the college application process. We will have a number of admissions officers from a variety of Massachusetts colleges and universities ready to take your questions during the evening kick-off event. Sophomore and freshmen parents are welcome to attend to get a head-start on the college planning process.

*** Congratulations to the Lady Tigers Basketball team for qualifying for the play-offs.

***  Give Your Heart to MS” Fundraiser On March 3, 2012, Lisa’s Ladies will host their third annual fundraising evening, “Give Your Heart to MS,” at the Maynard Rod & Gun Club at 7:30 pm. This popular event is open to anyone who wishes to support the team’s efforts to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Annual MS Challenge Walk. For $15.00 per ticket, one will enjoy a night of music, dancing, food, cash bar, chances to bid on outstanding raffle baskets, a silent auction, and a few surprise live auction items amid a festive atmosphere. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Lisa at or 978-580-4450. Please join Lisa’s Ladies for an evening of fun and giving. Lisa’s Ladies is a team comprised of Maynard women united with a common goal: to walk 50 miles over three days in an effort to raise awareness and money to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. Captained by Lisa Kennedy, the team includes Jamie Denn, Erin McDonald, Danielle Ullrich, Amy Hart, Marie Tucker, and Nellie Early. Over the course of the year, the team works on several fundraising initiatives, of which all proceeds go directly to the National MS Society. The team raised over $28,000 in the past two years, and hopes to reach their $15,000 goal again for 2012. To donate directly, go to

 Did you know.....

.... One of our "witnesses" at the final mock trial event of the year received a perfect "10" from the judges! This was the only "10" to be given out! Congratulations to the team, Ms. LaBelle and Mr. Caragianes for a great inaugural season!

...... Recent acceptances for colleges: Drexel University (scholarship) and Hofstra University (scholarship).

.....  One of our seniors has been nominated for a very prestigious science scholarship at Skidmore College. Keep watching here for an update!
