Dual Enrollment

MHS students in their junior and senior year are eligible for Dual Enrollment Programs at area Colleges and Universities.  This program may allow students to take college classes at a discounted rate/credit and earn high school and college credit at the same time.  Grades on the MHS transcript are awarded based on the official college transcript.

Dual Enrollment Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better for reduced price credit

  • Recommendation by school counselor for participation

  • Student can demonstrate eligibility for college-level English & Math (if applicable)

  • Parent/guardian permission

  • Dual Enrollment Application to Middlesex Community College, Mass Bay Community College, or any other state college that accepts Dual Enrollment

Students who choose this option must be enrolled in a minimum of 4 courses at Maynard High School in addition to the college course. Students are required to bring an official transcript showing the final grade from the college for the dual enrollment course to be included in the student’s MHS transcript.  Forms for the Dual Enrollment option are available on the colleges’ websites.  Students eligible and interested in Dual Enrollment should speak with their school counselor for further details.
