Requirements

All students must take history during their first three years at Maynard High School. An honors program is offered in each year of required history courses. Seniors are encouraged to participate in the History/Social Studies Department’s elective program. In addition, students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement American History, Advanced Placement World History, and Advanced Placement US Government.

Grade 9

Required: Early American History (College Prep or Honors)

Grade 10

Required: Modern World History (College Prep or Honors) or AP Modern World History

Electives: Law & Government, Psychology, Sociology, Dictators, US History since 9/11

Grade 11

Required: Modern US History (College Prep or Honors) or AP US History

Electives: Law & Government, Psychology, Sociology, Dictators, US History since 9/11, Popular Culture in American History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, AP Government and Politics, AP Modern World History 

Grade 12
